Congratulations to the “Tickled Pink Wheelers” who have completed a gruelling 248k bike ride from Asda Taunton to Hayes, Middlesex, to raise more than £1200 for Tickled Pink.
The “Wheelers” are: Asda Taunton deputy manager Neil Clements, Asda’s Regional Healthcare Coach Steve Swabey who looks after Pharmacy and Optical, and Asda’s Ignite Coach responsible for new trials, Ally Myers. They were cheered on their way by Asda colleagues.
Neil was inspired to do the 10-hour ride because his fiance Zoe was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Although all three are keen cyclists the distance was a personal best for all of them.
“None of us had done anything like that distance before and we wanted to push ourselves,” said Neil. “The most stressful bit was going through the edge of London at rush hour, navigating the traffic.”
Tickled Pink, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, raises money for Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now and this year we’re hoping our #Proud2BePink campaign will help us beat our target of £50 million.
