Each year we ask a host of celebrities to get behind our Tickled Pink campaign and help customers and colleagues raise money for breast cancer charities – Breast Cancer Campaign and Breast Cancer Care.

Tickled Pink - Lend a Hand

The gorgeous stars striking a pose this year included TOWIE star Ferne McCann, former MIC favourite Caggie Dunlop, Loose Women presenter Jamelia, and TV presenter and model Vogue Williams.

The celebs got dressed up in their best fuchsia finery to pose for this year’s “Lend a Hand” photoshoot. The ladies also joined hands in a lovely line-up featuring this year’s limited edition George t-shirts. Thank you to each and every customer, colleague and supplier who has helped us raise an amazing £40 million to help beat breast cancer – and we won’t stop there!

Tickled Pink gingerbread lady named Hope by Asda Facebook fans

Our Tickled Pink campaign is now in its 18th year. Every October we hold fundraising events in all our stores with colleagues organising everything from tombolas to sponsored events. We also sell limited edition Tickled Pink products – like these Tickled Pink gingerbread ladies nicknamed “Hope” by our Facebook fans.

Every penny we raise through Tickled Pink goes to support the valuable work of two breast cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign. Through our partnership we’ve enabled the two charities to help people diagnosed with breast cancer receive vital support, while also funding world-class research to help improve diagnosis, treatment and hopefully one day, a cure.

After 17 years of fundraising we’ve raised a massive £38 million to help fight cancer through our Tickled Pink campaign.

We’d like to say a massive thank you and well done to all our customers and colleagues who have helped us to raise this fantastic amount for Breast Cancer Campaign and Breast Cancer Care since Tickled Pink started in 1996. Your support has helped to raise awareness and money for the treatment of breast cancer in the UK.

In 2013 Tickled Pink supported Breast Cancer Care’s HeadStrong service and Breast Cancer Campaign’s Tissue Bank, a Scientific Fellowship and a number of research projects across the UK. The money raised for Tickled Pink has enabled each of these charities to provide a lifeline of support to thousands and fund world class, innovative research.

Thanks to Tickled Pink’s support in 2013, Breast Cancer Care have increased the size of HeadStrong by nearly 50% and have opened eight new centres in local communities – including Aintree, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Lanarkshire and Newcastle.

Breast Cancer Care’s HeadStrong service offers vital one-to-one tailored support and practical information. These expert tips and emotional support give people certainty in their ability to manage hair loss due to cancer treatment.

HeadStrong is now in 28 locations throughout the UK, providing support to thousands more people in their local communities. The service is completely free and available at any stage of their breast cancer diagnosis or treatment. Every £50 raised is enough to fund one HeadStrong session.
