Colleagues at our Halifax store have completed an epic charity ride to raise money for Tickled Pink.

The start of the ride

They cycled 1407km – the equivalent of riding from Land’s End to John O’Groats – on exercise bikes in the store in just 23 and a half hours.

Inspiring charity fundraisers Harry and Marion Windsor have collected an amazing total of £23,000 for Tickled Pink at our Minworth store in the last seven years – so we laid on a special treat to say thank you.

Harry and Marion

The pensioners travel from their home in Boston to visit the Minworth store in Sutton Coldfield every year to raise money for Tickled Pink. They’re a popular sight at the store, dressing in pink and taking the time to share their personal experiences to help people who are fighting cancer.

This is the last year they’re collecting money at the store, so we said thank you by taking them out for a meal and presenting a hamper of goodies including a bottle of champagne and bouquet of flowers. Harry and Marion will continue to collect nearer to home at our North Hykeham store in Lincoln, where they’re also regular fundraisers for the charity.

Colleagues lend a hand at Asda Robroyston

It’s that time of year again when colleagues are busy fundraising for Tickled Pink. This year’s theme for Tickled Pink is “lend a hand” and colleagues around the UK have been doing exactly that – by fundraising in store and inspiring customers to get involved.

They’ve been holding raffles, and doing all kinds of sponsored events to help raise money for the two breast cancer charities we support. To mark the month of fundraising we’ve even turned a few of our stores pink this October – including Asda Portadown in Northern Ireland.
