Colleague Maxine to take part in Breast Cancer Care's fashion show
We’re delighted to announce that Asda colleague Maxine Green will be modelling at this year’s annual Breast Cancer Care fashion show!
Maxine will be strutting her stuff on 2nd October at the Grosvenor House Hotel alongside 24 other women and men who have all had a diagnosis of breast cancer – to prove you can still look great and feel confident after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Maxine, who was diagnosed in 2010, said: “I want to do this to show anyone going through breast cancer that is isn’t always life threatening and you can still look and feel the same as before. It’s just one of those challenges and you can get through it.”
Maxine had a full right side mastectomy followed by reconstruction, as well as chemotherapy.
She added: "It was the biggest shock of my life to be told I had breast cancer. I had always been extra vigilant after losing my mum to breast cancer six years ago. Treatment is tough but keeping strong and positive – trying to carry on and be as normal as much as I can, that was a big help for me.
“It has made me a stronger person and I now have stronger relationships with my family and friends.
“I’m very much looking forward to getting onto that catwalk – I think it’s going to be wonderful and really good fun!”
