Top marks for George

Britain’s lowest priced school uniform will hit the hangers next week (4 June 2007) when it goes on sale at ASDA for just £9.96*, including a pair of scuff resistant shoes!

The ‘value’ school uniform, designed by George’s dedicated back to school team includes a polo shirt, a vest, sweatshirt (available in assorted colours), underpants, a pair of socks, trousers or a skirt and a pair of black scuff resistant shoes.

The £9.96 outfit price is for children aged three to six years old. Larger outfits are also available for six to 10 year olds for £12.96 and for 10 to 12 year olds- £13.96.

“Buying the back to school wardrobe certainly puts a strain on any parent’s purse, said George Global’s managing director Angela Spindler. “As we sell more school uniforms than any one else in Britain, we want to put more money back into our customer’s pockets and that’s exactly what we have done, giving customers change from a tenner.”

The great price, George says, does not come at the expense of quality, style or ethics.

George has a dedicated team of six designers with over 50 years of experience who work throughout the year focussing purely on ‘back to school’ to deliver up to the minute design and trends. George sources everything it sells ethically.

By using fewer suppliers its dedicated sourcing team now has long term relationships with the factories it uses, all of which are regularly audited to make sure that the factories are working to both George’s and the Ethical Trading Initiative’s code of conduct.

If an audit highlights any irregularity, George will work with the supplier to put it right.

The George back to school range is rigorously tested to make sure that it is durable and meets the demands of both children and their parents.
