The Long And Short Of It Men Can Now Get Two Shirts from George For £5.00
Well-dressed men can now get two shirts for only £5.00 from George at ASDA. The introduction of the £5.00 offer follows the £5.00 women’s shirt and trouser outfit that went on sale last week, becoming the fastest selling outfit ever in George history.
With quarter of a million of the women’s outfits selling last week, selling one outfit every 30 seconds in the first 24 hours ASDA hope to follow suit this week with men being able to wear one George shirt to the office and another after work all for just £5.00.
There are 160,000 easy care shirts available and George expects these to sell out in the next few days.
George has found in a study of 1,000 men that a shirt is a major part of men’s dress, with 74% of men choosing to wear a shirt both at work and during their own leisure time.
Men feel smarter when they wear a shirt and 82% will always wear a shirt for religious occasions, including weddings, funerals, bar mitzvahs and christenings.
Overall, 96% of men would choose to wear a shirt for an interview. 69% would wear a shirt on a first date. The study also found that 84% of men in Manchester would wear a shirt on a night out with the lads, 82% would wear a shirt in Birmingham, while only 56% of Londoners would choose to wear a shirt.
The men’s shirts are available in both long and short sleeves, in classic white or formal blue and ASDA customers can mix and match their two for a fiver offer.
Details include a classic single cuff finish and patch chest pocket.
The George Menswear team have created a classic design for everyday wear, as they understand just how expensive it can be to look smart. Whether the short is worn with a jumper, suit and with or without a tie guys can look and feel smart whatever their budget.
“George customers like great style at a great price, with our latest offer guys can buy two shirts for less than a coffee and a croissant, or a sandwich and a soft drink.” said Fiona Lambert, George’s brand director.
As with all great offers George is able to bring customers these shirts at such fantastic prices George buys material by the mile rather than the yard. It then passes these cost savings, delivered by economies of scale, directly to customers through tiny margins.
The way that George has sourced the shirts also means you can pick it up with a clear conscience.
Its dedicated sourcing team has ensured that it is sourced in line with the Ethical Trading Initiative’s code of practice. This is achieved by having long term relationships with a smaller number of factories that are shared with other well known high street stores, through regular independent audits and by George colleagues regularly visiting factories. George has a zero tolerance approach to abuse of any kind. If examples are found the retailers works with the supplier to put things right.
The fabric is sourced from Indonesia and they are made up Bangladesh. The George shirt is made with a practical easy iron fabric, with a 65% polyester and 35% cotton mix.
Taking guys from wash to wear quicker. A similar Poly-cotton 3 -pack easycare shirt pack from M&S is £15 .00, so ASDA customers could own 6 shirts from George for the same price as three from M&S.
The suit follows in the footsteps of the fastest growing women’s shirt and trousers outfit for £5.00, a tuxedo at £35, a full school uniform at £9.96 a wedding dress for £60 and this January’s £15.00 suit for men.
