By George – is this Britain's lowest priced winter coat for just £15
With the winter nights drawing in, ASDA today (18 October 2007) announced it has the perfect solution to keep out the winter chill without burning a hole in your pocket, a wool rich coat from George for just £15.
The coat comes from the same frugal fashonistas at George that brought the nation the £19 men’s suit, the £60 wedding dress, and the full school uniform for less than a tenner.
The black, wool mix classic, takes its inspiration from the clean lines of the season, with a military twist and does not come at the expense of design credentials or ethics.
“With economies of scale it means we can deliver amazing value without compromising style, quality or ethics. Our £15 coat is the perfect solution to keeping out the winter chill without burning a hole in your pocket,” said Fiona Lambert, George’s brand director.
George ladieswear team of designers who are famous for the George’s Must Have range, famously front by Coleen McCoughlin, have designed the coat.
ASDA is confident the jacket will prove a hit with customers across the land following successive interest rate rises as well as the general credit crunch putting further pressure on the bank balance of every day Britons.
By using fewer suppliers its dedicated sourcing team now has long term relationships with the factories it uses, all of which are regularly audited to make sure that the factories are working to both George’s and the Ethical Trading Initiative’s code of conduct. If an audit highlights any irregularity, George will work with the supplier to put it right.
George shares the same factory that makes this coat with many High Street brands including, Arcadia and Debenhams
