Asda cuts the price of diesel

Up to 2p per litre cut on Diesel

  • New national price means any drivers filling up at an Asda fuel station will pay no more than – 137.7ppl on diesel.

From tomorrow morning (Wednesday 10th April) drivers filling up at any of Asda’s 217 forecourts nationwide will benefit from the retailer’s national price cap, meaning motorists will pay no more than 137.7 pence per litre for diesel.

Whilst Asda remains the only supermarket to have a national price when it cuts the price of fuel, ensuring drivers know what they will pay at the pump regardless of where they live, other fuel retailers are getting away with charging some drivers up to 6 pence per litre difference across their sites.

Andy Peake, petrol trading director said: “From tomorrow, everybody filling up at an Asda fuel station will pay no more than 137.7 pence per litre for diesel, unlike some of our competitors who vary prices across their forecourts by up to six pence per litre more.”

Savvy motorists can also check how much they will save on fuel by using Asda’s Petrol Price Comparison site powered by independent price checker www.petrolprices.com which enables drivers across the UK to find the lowest priced fuel before they fill up.
