Asda cuts fuel again making it the lowest price this year, 128.7ppl on Unleaded and 135.7ppl Diesel

  • National price cap means any drivers filling up at any of Asda’s 223 forecourts will pay no more than – 128.7 ppl on unleaded and 135.7 ppl on diesel.
  • Third round of fuel cuts by Asda in as many weeks – Unleaded cut by another 3ppl and Diesel by 2ppl following cuts on Friday 27th September.

From tomorrow morning (Friday 27thth September) Asda, will be cutting the cost of fuel for the third time in as many weeks. Drivers across the UK will pay no more than 128.7ppl on unleaded and 135.7 ppl on diesel in another new round of market leading price cuts. Fuel at Asda is now the lowest price it has been this year.

Whilst Asda remains the only supermarket to have a national price cap when it cuts the price of fuel, ensuring drivers know what they will pay at the pump regardless of where they live, other fuel retailers are getting away with charging some drivers up to 6 pence per litre difference across their sites.

Andy Peake, Asda’s Petrol Trading Director said: “Families across Britain are crying out for help when it comes to managing their budgets and we know every fuel reduction makes a real difference. Our prices are the lowest they have been all year and our national price cap on fuel benefits everyone across the country, meaning that no-one filling up at Asda is forced to pay a premium for their fuel because of where they live.

“The recent OFT report highlights what our customers have known for some time; when Asda comes to town petrol prices tumble. It was no surprise to our customers that we were voted the UK’s Favourite Petrol Retailer last week.”

Last week, Asda was voted the UK’s Favourite Petrol Retailer by a new independent study by Market Force Information, a worldwide leader in customer intelligence solutions.

The survey targeted over 1500 consumers nationwide in an effort to understand the choices made in purchasing petrol, especially owing to fluctuations in prices and the economic challenges the nation currently faces.

Savvy motorists can also check how much they will save on fuel by using Asda’s petrol price comparison site powered by independent price checker which enables drivers across the UK to find the lowest priced fuel before they fill up.
