Asda awards creative advertising account to fallon
ASDA announced today (Wednesday, 10 January 2007) it has awarded all of its TV, radio and press advertising account to Fallon following a two-way creative pitch.
The pitch, which took place in the run up to Christmas, also included the incumbent agency Publicis.
Both agencies were asked to demonstrate ‘a passion for ASDA’s business, creativity and ideas for future ad campaigns’.
Rick Bendel, ASDA group marketing director said: “It was extremely competitive as you’d expect, but Fallon just clinched it. We were particularly impressed by their fresh approach to our business and their creative flare.”
“Both ad agencies are part of Publicis Groupe, so despite the shift in focus, our long-standing relationship with the wider organisation is set to continue. We can’t wait to get cracking with the first campaign.”
Publicis has created ASDAâ€™s TV, radio and press advertising campaigns for the last seventeen years. Most recently it helped develop the successful â€˜More For You For Lessâ€™ campaign designed to broaden ASDAâ€™s appeal and highlight its range of Extra Special premium foods, Must Have clothing and the Great Stuff childrenâ€™s meals.
The existing relationship with Publicis Blueprint, which handles the ASDA Media Centre and publishes the ASDA customer magazine, remains unaffected.
