We're cutting the price of unleaded petrol by up to 2p per litre

Fuel

From tomorrow (Thursday October 25) we’re cutting the price of unleaded petrol at our forecourts by up to 2p per litre.

Drivers filling up at Asda will pay no more than 133.7 pence per litre for unleaded thanks to our nationwide cap on petrol prices.

The price of disel remains unchanged – no more than 139.7 pence per litre – because wholesale costs remain the same.

We’ve cut the price of unleaded in response to falling wholesale prices, immediately passing on the savings to Asda customers without coupons or gimmicks.

Jeremy Walton, Head of Petrol Trading, said: "We always aim to be the first retailer in each part of the country to drop prices when costs are falling and the last to put them up.

“When we do drop prices, we drop them everywhere, setting a maximum national price cap for our customers, which means they all benefit from our low prices, regardless of where they live.”

Our Income Tracker has shown the huge impact high fuel prices has on the average family’s monthly budget.

You can check fuel prices in your local area by using our petrol comparison site, which is powered by independent price checker www.petrolprices.com.

Last month we launched our first petrol price check smartphone app, which allows Android phone users to compare prices on the go. Get it here.
