Scout group organises Asda delivery straight to their tent!

Our Home shopping colleagues often deliver to holiday destinations – but turning up to a scout camp in the middle of a field was a first for driver Tony Seager!

Scout camp delivery

The 10th Frome Scout group lived up to the Scout motto “Be prepared” when they placed their online order in advance of their camp last weekend. They ordered BBQ meat, rolls and other camp essentials for 86 to be delivered on Friday to their mess tent door! They were taking part in a District camp with 400 beavers, cubs and scouts at West Woodlands show field just outside Frome.

Scout leader Clare Ibbitson shared the photo of the delivery on Twitter and said they were delighted with the service they received.

“The driver was exceptionally polite and interacted with the Holstein who were helping unload the shopping!” said Clare.

In the photo (above) are her daughter Alexandra; Ethan and Mathilda Wickham; and beaver scouts Kimi, Gil and Dillon Endicott.

Home shopping manager at Asda Frome, Katie Myers, said: "We’ve never done a delivery to a scout camp before. They gave us a number to ring them before we left and then they met us at the top of the field. All the scouts were lovely!

“We’re happy to take unusual requests but it helps if people call the store in advance to let us know when they’re placing the order.”

How to order: You can order your shopping online at asda.com. We can deliver to your home – or holiday home – or you can collect it from a store of your choice for free using our Click and Collect service.
