These award-winning products impressed the judges - try them for yourself

Quality Food and Drink AwardsWe’re delighted to have scooped a host of new awards at the Quality Food and Drink awards 2013.

This brings the total number of awards for our own-brand range of food and drink to more than 300 so far this year – proving that you can buy top quality, delicious food and drink at everyday affordable prices.

Six of our products were outright winners and a further eight were either Commended or Highly Commended by the judges. The winners included products from our new Chosen by Kids range which launched in October as well as home baking, frozen and Extra Special ranges.

Here’s a tasty new twist on garlic bread – this delicious flatbread is handcrafted and topped with a caramelised shallot and herb butter filling. The judges praised “the lovely flavours” and said “It is really good to see a garlic bread which has additional flavours”.

Create your favourite pizzas with this easy-to-use base – simply roll out on a baking tray and add your favourite toppings! The judges said: “Great for families and children – kids would love to make their own toppings and parents will love the ease of it.” A great way to get kids baking!


Spicy Butternut Soup Mix with Coconut, Ginger & LemongrassAsda Spicy Butternut Soup Mix with Coconut, Ginger & Lemongrass
Our easy fresh mixes taste delicious and deliver home-cooked taste without the hassle. Simply add the mix to a saucepan with water and a stock cube for a warming treat. The judges thought that the use of pre-cooked vegetables made it a “very easy” meal to make and “a clever idea at an excellent price which fills you up”.

This aromatic vegetarian soup went down a treat with the judging panel who said "the flavour is a great marriage of warmth and spice and has “a fantastic aroma, which instantly excites the palate, and a great colour”.

We’re really proud of this amazing new frozen dessert which combines chocolate sponge with layers of cream mousse and mandarine sauce, topped with pastry and decorated with chocolate jelly, chocolate drops and gold sparkling paste. The judges said: "A classic flavour combination of chocolate and orange updated and presented in a modern, minimalistic manner.

A medium bodied red wine with juicy fruit and spicy bramble flavours that is “delicious and packed full of berry fruits at an incredible price” – all the tasters on the panel enjoyed the drinking experience, with many of them praising the wine’s “appealing fruitiness”.

This Chablis has the unique flavours of citrus fruit and mineral notes. The perfect partner for seafood and fish dishes. One judge compared this delicious wine to a “ripe, creamy apple fruit that over delivers for classic Chablis at this price point”.
