X Factor's Jahmene Douglas comes home with Asda mini-tour

The X Factor star Jahmene Douglas will be launching his eagerly anticipated debut album with a one-off gig in London next month – and he’s following it up with a mini tour of some of our stores!

Our former colleague will be making a string of personal appearances to promote Love Never Fails – which is officially released on July 22. It’s available to pre-order now with free delivery on the day of release.

At each appearance, the X Factor runner-up will sing a selection of tracks, including new single Titanium, with backing vocals provided by the London Community Gospel Choir.

Jahmene will kick off his store appearances on July 22 with a visit to the Asda store in his home town of Swindon from 12pm to 2pm, where he will be signing copies of the new record. That evening he will make his way to our Milton Keynes store from 6pm to 8pm. On July 23 he’ll be in Sheffield from 12pm to 2pm and Manchester Trafford Park from 5pm to 7pm.

Jahmene’s debut album features a cover of The Greatest Love Of All recorded with his X Factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger – a track the pair performed during the final of the TV talent show.

Soul legend Stevie Wonder also features on the album, lending his harmonica skills to Give Us This Day.

Jahmene said: "A lot of Whitney fans don’t know her interpretation of this gospel song but I thought as it’s one of my favourites and it’s a very strong song I would try it.

“I thought it needed another dimension so I was asked who I’d like to feature on it and my dream was Stevie Wonder, who has been a lifelong hero of mine. I could not believe it when my manager told me that Stevie loved my voice and wanted to play harmonica on the track. Its an incredible blessing to work with the 8th wonder of the world.”

Jahmene will be donating all proceeds from the sale of his single Titanium to his chosen charity Women’s Aid.
