Help ITV set a new world record for the most Santas in one place

Our friends at ITV are attempting to set a world record for the biggest gathering of Santas in one place – and they’re asking Asda customers and colleagues to come along and be part of it.

The event is part of ITV’s mega charity fundraiser Text Santa, which we’re supporting in a big way at Asda. It will run through December and culminate in a star-studded live TV show on Christmas Eve hosted by Ant and Dec.

The attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the “largest gathering of people dressed as Santa Claus” will take place at the Kia Oval Cricket Ground in London on Sunday 27th November.

The aim is to get more than 15,000 people dressed up in Santa outfits singing Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and performing a dance choreographed by Ashley Banjo from Diversity.

It promises to be a fun day – and the highlights will be broadcast on a special Text Santa TV show on 11th December presented by Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley.

If you’d like to be part of the world record attempt check out Ashley’s video above to have a go at the dance – and pop on to ITV’s Text Santa website to get full details.

We’re major partners in the Text Santa initiative – which will be raising money for those most vulnerable at Christmas time – so look out for lots of activity in Asda stores next month.
