Our summer products are a big hit at the Olive Supermarket Awards

Wow your guests this summer with Britain’s “Best BBQ Show-Off Product” – our Oak-Smoked Beef Rib, which won the accolade in the Olive Supermarket Awards 2017.

Oak-Smoked Beef Rib with BBQ Sauce

The judges said: “A clear winner for its impressive show-off factor, it really delivers on flavour with a well-balanced smoke and a sharp, not-too-sweet BBQ sauce. The meat is tender and falls off the bone.”

The beef rib is hot smoked over oak in a traditional smoke chamber, then slow cooked in a smokey marinade for up to eight hours until the meat is just falling off the bone.

Best Frozen Summer Dessert: Raspberry and Prosecco Pavlova Stack
The judges said: “A frozen dessert that really holds up after defrosting. It looks pretty and there’s a good balance between the sweet meringue and the sharp raspberries.”

The pavlova stack is made with Prosecco, cream, crisp meringue and raspberry sauce, topped with Heritage raspberries and Belgian white chocolate curls, hand finished with a Belgian white chocolate ganache.

Best Flavoured Bread: Extra Special Hand-Stretched Caramelised Onion and Mozzarella Flatbread
The judges said: “An indulgent addition to a summer spread, these pillowy flatbreads are soft and moist thanks to the sweet onion and salty mozzarella topping. Ditch the sandwiches and stick to this, we reckon.”

The flatbread is made from a slow ferment dough and is hand stretched before being topped with a sweet caramelised onion chutney and mozzarella petals.

Best Savoury Summer Tart: Petit Pois, Courgette and Ricotta Quiche
The judges said: “A perfectly cooked, creamy egg filling with pops of minty pea and courgette and the extra short, crisp pastry make this a winner.”

Key ingredients in the quiche include extra mature cheddar and fragrant mint in a crumbly wholemeal pastry. Delicious enjoyed hot or cold!
