Our whopping 1 kilogram chocolate Easter egg comes top in taste test

Our own-brand Belgian chocolate Easter Egg has just been voted this year’s ultimate Easter Egg by the Good Housekeeping Institute – proving that it tastes every bit as good as it looks.

Giant Belgian Chocolate Easter Egg

Judges tasted nearly 200 chocolate eggs ranging from £1.99 to £26 and named The Collection Giant Belgian Chocolate Easter Egg as their overall winner ahead of Easter eggs from luxury brands like Fortnum and Mason and Hotel Chocolat.

They loved its “thick, rich, delicious chocolate” and thought it was great value.

The luxury £10 Easter egg weighs 1kg and its size makes it perfect for sharing.

Good Housekeeping Consumer Editor, Caroline Bloor says: "We think the Asda egg is a deserving winner, proving that a cheaper egg can not only taste delicious but is excellent overall value.

“The variety of Easter eggs available in 2012 is fantastic but spending more does not guarantee good value or great taste.”

So if you really want to impress your loved ones this Easter head to your local Asda to pick one up while stocks last.
