Celebrating a trio of wins at the Everywoman Retail Awards
We scooped an impressive three awards at the Everywoman Retail Awards this week, highlighting the wealth of female talent at Asda.
The awards identify talented women working at the top of the retail industry and showcase the career opportunities that exist in the retail world. This year’s winners included:
- Fiona Lambert, Brand Director for George at Asda, named “Innovator of the Year”. Fiona has been recognised for her achievements in transforming George into a fashion forward brand, competing with some of the biggest high street names.
- Hayley Hartwell, a 29-year-old Fashion Buyer for George, named “Star of the Future”. Hayley has been recognised for her outstanding achievements in transforming the G21 sub-brand into a benchmark for the business, as well as her work at George’s sourcing operation in Bangladesh.
- Judith McKenna, Chief Operating Operator Asda, named “Woman of the Year”. Judith has been recognised for her achievements heading up the UK’s second largest supermarket chain, responsible for 175,000 colleagues across 554 stores. She was also commended for her vision, innovative approach and success, which together make her an outstanding role model for women across the sector.
Andy Clarke congratulated the winners by saying: “I can’t tell you how proud it makes me to see not just one, but three of our fantastic colleagues recognised in this way – and as we go forward into the Golden Quarter their achievements reinforce my total confidence in the ability of our team to deliver amazing results for our customers.”
Well done to all three ladies for winning!
