Asda Active - fitness fun for all the family coming to a field near you

We aim to play an active role in our stores’ local communities – and this year we’re launching a new initiative to help families across the UK discover and get involved in local sporting activities.

It’s called Asda Active and it takes over from our successful Sporting Chance campaign, which for four years provided more than 300,000 kids with free sporting activity sessions during the school holidays.

Asda Active builds on the work we’ve been doing with the national charity Fields in Trust to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by protecting 2,012 outdoor spaces from development and ensuring local kids and future generations have somewhere to relax and play.

We’ve teamed up with the Fitness Industry Association and Sport England to use some of these protected fields for a series of community sporting fun days we’ll be running across the summer.

In this historic year of the 2012 London Olympics we want to use these free events to showcase and help you discover the kind of sports and activities that are available for you and your family in your local area.

It’ll be a fun day for the whole family – and we and our partners really hope your kids will be inspired to take up a new activity.

We’ll also be getting behind some of your local sports clubs by making a donation towards equipment or coaching. You’ll be able to vote for the clubs you think we should support.

We’ve invited some of the sporting stars of the future to the events too – many Asda stores support a promising young sportsperson in their local area through the Asda Athletes programme.

We’ll be finalising all the details over the next few weeks but if you’d like to be one of the first to find out more click on the link below to leave your details and we’ll be in touch with more information.
