We're proud to be supporting National Transplant Week
We’re teaming up with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) to help encourage more people across the UK to sign up to the NHS Organ Donor Register during National Transplant Week – which starts on 8th July.
Most of us would be willing to take an organ if we needed one, but only a third of the population are actually on the Organ Donor Register.
We want to raise awareness of the ways you can sign-up to the register as well as the need to discuss your organ donation wishes with your loved ones – if you’re interested in signing the Organ Donor Register please click here.
To support the campaign we’ve launched a limited edition Bag for life – available in Asda stores across the UK. The bag costs just 6p and shows the different ways you can sign up to the register – including text, phone and online.
Fiona Lambert, George Brand Director, said: "This campaign is very close to my heart. By raising awareness of the importance of organ donation amongst our Asda colleagues and customers we are hoping to make a difference and encourage more people to sign up to the Register.
“At Asda we are leading the way and calling on our fellow retailers to come on board and raise awareness of the campaign amongst their shoppers, colleagues and suppliers, to encourage registrations and ultimately enhance and save lives.”
Support this fantastic cause by picking up a bag for life – and look out for events in your local Asda store.
