Why we're launching a 100-day guarantee on all George clothing

We’re so confident in the quality of our George clothing that from today we’re offering a 100-day ‘no quibble’ guarantee on all our garments.

We’re the only retailer to offer such a generous returns policy and we’ve invested £40 million over the past 18 months on improving the quality and durability of our ranges.

For example we now fit all our clothes on our in-house models three times to ensure consistency of fit. We make sure buttons and sequins are sewn on securely and we’ve worked with our suppliers to develop durable fabrics that will wash again and again without losing their colour or shape.

Expecting a baby? We've got a great deal on newborn nappies

Little Angels Nappies If you’re expecting your first baby you might not be prepared for the number of nappies your newborn will get through!

Your new baby will need changing on average eight changes per day – which means you’ll need a plentiful supply of nappies to hand.

We’ve got a great offer on our newborn nappies – from today our size 1 Little Angels nappies are just £1 for a pack of 48 which – at just 2p each – makes them the lowest-priced nappies in the UK.

A similar-sized pack of Pampers nappies costs £5.95 more which means you could save more than £40 in the first six weeks of your baby’s life – enough to buy a buggy, cot or car seat.

Little Angel’s nappies are our softest ever nappy with an embossed top sheet for greater absorption and flexible sides for easy changing.

And saving money doesn’t mean scrimping on quality. In her Aisle Spy blog our new baby blogger Joe explains the rigorous tests our nappies go through.

We're first to market for British spinach and Jersey potatoes

spinach growing under an insulating cloche You can’t normally buy British spinach or Jersey potatoes until April but this year both vegetables will be in our stores earlier than usual thanks to new techniques used by our suppliers.

Our spinach supplier, based in Shropshire, carried out a trial this year to bring the British spinach season forward by two months. They used ‘cloches’ – a technique used in France to grow lamb’s lettuce – to protect the spinach from our harsh winter. Despite temperatures plummeting as low as -10C the spinach grew successfully and in February they were able to harvest two days’ worth of spinach which was sold in some of our stores in the South West and North West of England.
