Asda help Lancaster Brewery bring their beers to a wider audience

Lancaster Brewery is expanding with the creation of a new brewery and vistor centre, thanks to a deal that will see its beers stocked in 88 Asda stores.

Lancaster Brewery

This success story is the latest example of how we’re helping local suppliers grow by introducing more people to their products.

We began working with Lancaster Brewery in 2010 when we first stocked their beers in 12 of our stores. Demand from our customers has been steadily rising and we now sell an average of 2,000 bottle each week.

To celebrate the deal Lancaster Brewery has also created a new range of cider products that will be stocked in selected stores this summer.

Alison Hamlett, Asda local sourcing and technical manager in the North West, said: “To achieve such growth in just a couple of years is testimony to how local suppliers can work with retailers for a mutual benefit to help grow not just sales but their whole business.”

Elvin Willgrass, National Accounts & Export Manager of Lancaster Brewery, said: “Asda has been a key player in the growing of our brand and product range and together our relationship has been instrumental in the progress and development of the new brewery.”

Lancaster Brewery is one of 600 local suppliers providing more than 6,000 local products to Asda stores across the country.
