Colleagues show their support for X Factor star Jahmene Douglas
Asda colleagues at our Haydon store in Swindon are delighted that their friend and colleague Jahmene Douglas is proving such a big hit on The X Factor.
They’re backing him all the way and say his weekly appearances on the show have created a real buzz in store.
When a local TV camera crew visited the store this week colleagues showed their support by wearing “Go Jahmene” t-shirts and creating Jahmene masks.
Si Barrow, Chilled Section leader, says: “We all knew he could sing but we didn’t know just how good he was.”
He asked Jahmene to sing at his wedding later this year before the X factor auditions – and says he’ll hold him to it even if he wins!
Mel Thomas, a close friend who also works at the store, says Jahmene has been an inspiration to her and has helped her through some difficult times.
She says: “If he wasn’t to win it – or even come second – he’s got his voice out there now. The whole world knows who he is!”
Store manager Richard Henry spoke on behalf of the colleagues at Asda Haydon when he said: “Everyone is behind him, we all watch the X-Factor every weekend. Fingers crossed he goes all the way because he’s a superstar!”
