Go Jahmene!

“Love Never Fails”, Jahmene’s debut album, is number one, knocking Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” off the top spot.

Jahmene's debut album

Jahmene tweeted his reaction to the news: “Say what !! Thank you all soooooo much for getting my album to number ONE!!!”

The album includes his new single Titanium and songs recorded with Stevie Wonder and his X Factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger.

All the songs on the album are “gospel interpretations” of songs which mean something to Jahmene. He says: "A lot of them are from moments of my life when I’ve been low – like “I Look to You” is one I connected with at my brother’s funeral so it’s nice to share it with other people who might be going through the same thing."

Jahmene thanked Asda colleagues and customers for all their support and recorded this video message saying “You’ve believed in me and helped me believe in myself”:

Thanks to everyone who bought one of our “Vote Jahmene” t-shirts or special packs of “Chicken Jahmene” in aid of the charity.

Jahmene t-shirtTeresa Parker from Women’s Aid says: "Women’s Aid is absolutely delighted to receive this £10,000 donation from Asda, thank you so much to both colleagues and customers who have made this possible, and of course to Jahmene who has been such a brilliant supporter of the work we do to stop domestic violence.

“We desperately need funds to continue running our lifesaving services for women and children and this will be a massive help.”
