New to our Fish Made Simple range - Dover Sole and John Dory

We’ve added two delicious new types of fish to our Fish Made Simple range – John Dory and Dover Sole.

John Dory fish

Both are popular with TV chefs as they go well with a wide variety of ingredients and flavours.

They’re also staples in pricey food halls such as Harrods and Selfridges where they cost between £37-£48/kg – but now you can buy them at Asda for a snip of the price.

Dover Sole

Find them at our in-store fish counters for £14.96/kg (for John Dory) and £19.97/kg (Dover Sole) which is around £6 per fish. They will be in 70 stores initially so check first if it’s available near you.

We have also introduced Alaskan Pollack at £6.97/kg and hake at £9.98/kg in more than 220 stores as alternatives to cod and haddock.

And if you’re not sure how to cook them our in-store fishmongers will be happy to help – we’ve got loads of sauces and marinades to choose from in our Fish Made Simple range. Find out more.

Jill Skipsey, fish counter buyer at Asda says, "TV chefs, such as Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall have done wonders for championing lesser known species of fish, but that doesn’t help shoppers if they can’t get their hands on it to try at home.

“We hope that by launching the two varieties in stores, we’ll encourage customers to experiment and try something new and show that you can enjoy great quality foods at even better value.”

Win £100: If you cook a fish dish you’re proud of why not take picture and upload it to our Get Cooking Facebook app. The best entry each month wins £100 to spend at Asda – see app for details.
