Our Community Champions help celebrate 2017 World Book Day
Our wonderful team of Community Champions have been dressing up as their favourite characters and visiting local schools and nurseries to celebrate World Book Day.
In Sutton, Community Champion Tracey Jacques visited Abbey Primary School dressed as Harry Potter. The children also dressed for the occasion, with characters ranging from princesses to wizards and superheroes to Mary Poppins.
Not only did Tracey read ‘The big tale of little Peppa’ to the children, they brought their favourite books in to read to the group.
Asda Boston Community Champion Stephen Bromby called in at Carlton Road Academy dressed as Where’s Wally. Stephen read a Peppa Pig book as well as taking multiple activities to entertain the children.
Jill Garland and Syrita Clark, the Community Champions at our Cheltenham store, were both on hand at The Children of St Marks & Hester’s Way playgroup – dressed as Cat in the Hat and Maid Marian.
The Community Champions read to the group before cutting out some Peppa Pig ears and some themed cake decorations.
In the Lancaster store, colleagues were dressed up as a range of characters. They had various activities in the store for children, including cut-outs of Peppa Pig ears.
In Gosforth, the store’s Community Champion Michelle Castledine went to Gosforth School dressed as Where’s Wally? Michelle entertained the children with activities such as colouring by numbers, dot to dot and more.
Colleagues at Asda Greenhithe dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland, with costumes ranging from the Mad Hatter to the Queen of Hearts.
In our Westwood store in Belfast, Noeleen McMahon visited St Marie Goretti Nursery to read to the children.
