Gaynor says it's a privilege to join volunteers at local hospice shop

One of the things our stores’ Community Champions love is supporting those selfless volunteers who give up their time to do great things for their local area like running charity shops for good causes.

Gaynor with the team

Gaynor from our St Helens store helps volunteers at a shop that raises money for Willowbrook Hospice every week.

“It’s a privilege to support the shop along with all of the volunteers,” said Gaynor. "I’ve been involved in steaming clothing, sorting bags of donated items, pricing stock, chatting to customers and working the till.

“We all have a wonderful time, but the best part is knowing that through what we do, we are raising funds to support the Hospice which is a wonderful support service for people in the local area.”

Gaynor’s joined volunteers at the shop every Tuesday for the last two years. Proceeds from sales going to the Hospice which cares for patients with life-limiting diseases in the area.

The Willowbrook store manager Sarah Brennan said: “Gaynor’s a lovely lady and we’re so grateful for her help – and we’re so grateful to all of our volunteers.”

There are 11 shops across the St Helens and Knowsley areas supporting Willowbrook Hospice.
