Tried and tested: Plum baby food
Plum’s organic range of baby food pots and pouches at Asda offers plenty of unusual flavours, but do babies like them?

We put the range to the test by asking three Asda mums and their babies to try them.
Natalie, mum to six-month-old Riley, loved the fruit and breakfast pouches and said: "I really struggle to find different and unusual flavours and other brands tend to be quite basic whereas these were flavours such as blueberry, banana and vanilla.
“I was surprised when he ate the breakfast pouch which had prunes in – but he ate every last bit!”
Eight-month-old Luca’s mum Leanne was impressed by the lamb in the stage two range of food pots, but says his big appetite meant she needed to give him two pots or mix his pot in with other food.
“He did enjoy the flavour and I liked the alternative flavour that differs from the usual offered by other products which was the red cabbage and chicken casserole. The lamb option was also a good option as most of the baby foods I see are chicken or beef.”
One-year-old Alex’s favourite food was the tomato, beef and lentil curry – not something that babies normally get to try!

Mum Kelly says: “He just loved this meal, polishing off an entire pot! The curry smelt delicious and again you could easily pick out the ingredients such as the lentils, bits of beef and various vegetables.”
Kelly’s son also loved the fruit pouches and she suggests mixing them in with other food, such as homemade rice pudding.
“I found this a great way of making the pouch go that little bit longer and offering a bit of variety and texture to his diet as the fruit pouches only come in the stage 1 format which is pureed and Alex really likes a bit of texture now he has 8 teeth.”
Thanks to all our mums for testing the products. You can read more about the range here.
