What to pack in your hospital bag

We’ve created a handy hospital checklist for mums-to-be of all the essential items they and their new baby will need.

Hospital checklist on George.com

If it’s your first baby you might not know how many of each item to pack – which is why it’s helpful to have a ready-made list.

You can buy all the items on our downloadable checklist from Asda – including plenty of cute baby essentials from George for the new arrival.

All our George baby clothes are made with 100% soft touch cotton to be kind to delicate newborn skin.

Many expectant mums pack their bag well in advance of their due date to be sure they don’t forget anything!

We asked our Facebook fans what the most useful item was in their hospital bag – you can join in the conversation here.

Here’s just a few of the suggestions:

“Water, could not get enough during labour! The gas and air makes your mouth do dry” - Karen Sinclair

“Scratch mits my little man was born with long nails” - Ste Buster Clough

“Spare bra’s and lots of breast pads for them leakages :/” - Laura Crosbie

“Food! As I had really bad mornin sickness all the way through and couldn’t keep anythin down and the min I had my baby I could eat and keep everythin down so I couldn’t get enough food!!” - Shelley Watson

“Lip balm and a hair bobble!” - Nikki Cooper-Tomkins

“Holiday-sized lovely shampoo/conditioner/showergel/toothpaste etc I was in for 3 nights and that after-labour shower feels even more amazing if you have a bit of luxury with you, rather than using hospital soap etc” - Julie Whitney

“Lots of knickers & maternity pads & plenty of toiletries for showering.” - Gemma Taylor
