This is a picture of me on my second visit to Asda fundraising. We are coming to the end of the water ski season and I am really pleased as I have improved in all three areas tricks, slalom, and jump. I am now concentrating on gym work to make sure I am at my strongest and fittest for the trick training this winter and for the start of next season.

Since Easter I have contiued to train really hard, I’ve competed in the British Championships at Gosfield in Essex, where I came 4th in the jump and 5th overall in the Under 17 age category, which I am really pleased with as I am still 14. Three weeks ago I also competed in a two day Jump competition and improved my personal best score getting 39.9 twice. Lets hope it’s not long before I go 40 metres. I’m looking forward to the last competition of the season I hope to improve my scores even more ready for Team Selection next year.

Since my last blog I have competed in the 3 round trick competition at West Midlands Waterski Centre and although the weather on both days was terrible I was pleased with my results. I have continued to train in Lincoln at Hazelwoods Ski World each weekend. Two weeks ago I competed in the British Youth trials in Tricks, Slalom and Jump and as it is my first year in the Under 17’s I was just hoping to get good personal scores; but was really pleased when I came third in Jump (38.0 meters) so I am now continuing to train extra hard again already for the British Youth Nationals which are being held at the end of July.

Have just returned from spending a week at Hazelwood Ski World in Lincoln where I train. To be honest the weather hasn’t been brilliant this year – a lot of really cold mornings, black clouds and rain showers. However on a positive note I spent the time on improving my tricks and slalom as I have my first Competition on Saturday 5th May at the West Midlands Waterski Centre in Dosthill Tamworth which will be against under 17 yr olds (my first year in this age catatory)from all over the Country and will just include tricks. I have posted a picture of me slaloming round bouy 4 out of 6. Hopeing to get a new Slalom Ski this weekend which has been sent over from the States so I’m looking forward to trying it out!!

Hi, my name is Tom Burke and I am a Water Skier, competing in 3 events Jump Tricks and Slalom. I have been a member of the British Under 14 Squad for the past 2 year and represented Great Britain in the European Championships last year in Ukraine and came 7th overall. I have now moved up to the Under 17 category so have to continue to train hard. During the Winter I have to train every weekend in Lincoln and most days from May through to October; to make sure I gain team selection for Great Britain.
