Hi everyone!

I’ve been living in Bristol for almost 2 months now and I am loving it! Living on your own is a lot harder than living with parents but I think it was good for me to make this big move, so I can learn how to live on my own before I make an even bigger move to the states. Being a Bristol Flyer is not an easy thing to be because of the amount of trainings we do but it will definitely help me to improve. My body is starting to get used to all the conditioning and athletics we do and hopefully will get stronger soon. Bristol is been full of challenges on a daily bases but eventually you get used to it. I got an e-mail a few days ago from England Basketball asking me to attend the first England camp in Nottingham this year, which I was very happy to hear about. I’m also happy because two of my team mates also received the same e-mail, which means we can travel together. Anyway that’s it for now and shall make a new blog post after the camp.

Thanks for reading guys!

Hi everyone,

A lot of things happened to me since my last blog post. For example in the summer me and the U18’s England Basketball Team came 3rd in the the Div. B European Championships in Sarajevo and got the promotion to Div. A for next year, which means the I will be able to play against the top European countries the next summer.
But that’s not all! I also made a big move from Manchester to Bristol and I am now playing for Bristol Flyers U18’s and Div.1. It has been a great experience so far and really hope that it will work out to the best for me so I can go out to the states at the end of the two years at college. Wish me luck and my new blog post should come shortly after this.

Thanks,

Tamas

Last week (16th July-22nd July) I attended the U18’s England training camp in Mons in Belgium where we physically and mentally prepared for this summer’s European Championship. We trained four times a day and also had three games. Two against Luxemburg and one against Belgium. This extremely tiring week really benefited me and the team and definitely made us another step towards our final goal the GOLD MEDAL! Next weekend (27th July-29th July) I will be going to Leicester for a 3 day camp/tournament where we not just going to be training but will also be playing Belgium three times. My next update will come shortly after the 29th of July 2012.

U18 Men finish fourth at Future Stars and make cuts

Wednesday, 04-Jul-2012

The England U18 Men team finished 2-2 at the Future Stars tournament to finish in fourth spot.

After an opening day when they defeated Sweden (62-55) and eventual winner Ukraine (84-76), then then lost on consecutive days to Netherlands (53-46) and Denmark (73-59).

Coach Steve Bucknall commented: "We were pleased to finish up 2-2 at the Future Stars tournament considering the stage we are in preparation and the excellent competition which it provided us.

“Playing four international games helped us to gauge were we are as a team and individuals and will help us to improve in the future!

The evaluation period is nearly complete and we can now reduce the squad numbers to 16 vying for a place on the plane for the Euros."

I`ve made the Team and I`ll go to Belgium for a International Camp at 16th-22nd.
We`ll practise 3 times a day and play games against Luxemburg and Belgium. The final 12 players will be announced shortly after the camp who will be competing at the FIBA Europe U18 European Championship, B Division Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina 9-19. August, 2012. Next update is coming soon. Tamas
