Merry Christmas everyone!

Wow, I haven’t updated my blog in a while. Not much to catch up on really, apart from week to week training (in the freeeezing cold weather) and nearly slipping on my road rides on the ice haha! Lets just hope it doesn’t snow hey! :)

Well last week I recieved a cheque in the post from sports aid including the money that I’d raised in store and the £300 top up for the end of the year. Really thankful for this money!

Big thanks!

Track Nationals was a fair while back now, but having started back in school (A Levels) and back to the heavy winter training, I haven’t had chance to blog! :(

Track Nationals – got a 4th and a 7th…. Disappointed is the word I’m going to describe that week with. But seeing as though I had an illness knocking me sideways for two months prior to the Nationals, I suppose I did okay.

Raring to go now to make a big comeback next year as a 2nd year Junior!

BRING IT ON!!!

Its 2 weeks exactly untill my major race of the year! And to be quite frank, I’m really nervous!

Having hardly any races this year makes me feel like I’m a novice to the sport again.. but only 2 weeks left to prepare, so bring it on!!!

I’m wanting another jersey like last year… and as you’d hash tag on twitter #MOTIVATED!!!!!!

Track Cycling in my opinion is the most exciting Olympic event! The speed and exilleration is immense! There are lots of races on the track including both Sprint and Endurance events, here are a list of the races taking place ;

Sprint Events – Individual Sprint, Keirin, 500m TT (Women only) 1kilo (Men only) Team Sprints (3 riders for men, 2 riders for women)

Endurance Events – Individual Pursuit, Team Pursuit (4 riders for men, 3 riders for women) Scratch race (1st over the line wins) Points Race (Points awarded on sprint laps, person with most points wins)

This coming Olympics, the rules have changed, so to spice things up a little bit there is an Omnium, which will over ride some of the above events listed in the Endurance races. An Omnium entails both Sprint and Endurance races so the athlete will have to be an all rounder!

People to look out for! :-
Chris Hoy / Jason Kenny (Mens Sprint)
Becky James / Victoria Pendleton (Womens Sprint)
Bradley Wiggins / Geraint Thomas (Mens Endurance)
Ed Clancy / Sam Harrison (Omnium)

Hopefully these guys will be bringing us the medals!
1 year left to go, 1 year left to prepare
