What a fantastic day the weather was great and I got the chance to carry the Olympic Torch through the packed streets of Ripon. The experience was so good it makes the effort I put into competing and training that much more rewarding.

What a busy period the last few weeks have been after the Estonian competition in April the following week I competed in the Northern Ireland Open under 20s in Belfast and won a well deserved Bronze medal.

The following week I attended a training camp in Italy and gained valuable experience from this. I was then picked to represent England in the Austrian Junior European Cup which I fought well but it did not go my way, the 3 day training camp after was hard but good being able to mix it with top quality juniors and seniors.
Having returned from Austria really tired I have had a couple of days rest but now off to Kendal for a tough training camp over the weekend as part of the England Talent Development Squad.

I have just received my kit for carrying the Olympic Flame on Tuesday 19th June in Ripon North Yorkshire. I am so excited at being part of the Olympic Torch Relay and looking forward to this event.

Back from Estonia, pretty hard comp, won a bronze in the under 60kg category. My first fight was with an Estonian that’s a year older than me, he had caught me quite early on in the fight so I had to get the score equal, I did so and we went to flags, I lost and the same boy went on to win.

My second fight was with a Finish, I beat him by holding him down in the first minute, pretty easy fight.

Third fight was with a Swiss, I won by throwing my competitor for a wazari and then another wazari. I have earned 20 more ranking points for the European cup championships.

The hotel I stayed in was nice, good weather.

Sunday 8th April- Wednesday 11th April

Really hard training camp, lots of running and randori, absolutely shattered. Off to Estonia on the 13th to compete in the European Junior cup on the 14th of April, will report back as soon as I’m home.
