After swimming out in Antwerp in the European Junior Championships I thought this would be an anti-climax. Not the case!
Another great week of fast swimming and beating PBs only just set out in Belgium.
The Nationals are a tough environment where you have multiple swims particularly in sprint events. The trick is to qualify for the next round but not expend all your energy. This was pushed close on the 200m Butterfly where I qualified 10th for the final, phew, but came fifth.
A good swim in the 100m freestyle got another good time 51.47 probably good enough for British Champs next year and a fourth place.
The 100m Backstroke final resulted in another big PB and a silver medal, just beaten by my Backstroke nemesis and European Juniors team mate Joe Patching.
Saving the best till last I won the 100m butterfly and became National Champion in that event for the third year running. To cap off a great week along with Joe Elwood, Sam Davies and Sean Muscoft, my City of Manchester team mates, we won a silver medal in the 4×100m medley relay.
End of a great season and the hard work starts again soon, not just for next year but for Rio in 2016.
