Hi!

Recently I have had a 2 week break in training while the club was closed, I spent my time travelling up to London 3 times to watch some of the aquatics events. I met up with a friend on the GB team, and watched both the Men’s 10m Synchro final and Men’s 10m Individual final… they were amazing!

It was cool to see a few of the guys from our club there, and the atmosphere was great. Going to watch the Olympics made me more determined to overcome my injuries and work harder towards 2016!

I had a great time at the Olympics (and shopping in Westfield afterwards) and I started back at training last week… speak to you soon!

Heya!

In July 2011 I had 2 operations on my wrist, after suffering 2 years of pain from a damaged joint. Unfortunately the recovery took longer than expected and it was only last month that I started training on my preferred boards (highboard, 10m).

In June, whilst studying for and taking my GCSEs I competed in the National Junior Elite Championships on springboard, where I missed out on the final by less than 3 points on both 1m and 3m springboards. I also came 3rd in the 3m synchro with my partner Georgie. Even though I didn’t do great in the individual events, I was very pleased as I had done very little training, and they were my weaker events! This unfortunately meant I wasn’t selected for Dresden International and Junior European Championships, so I have had a relatively quiet year without any internationals!

I am currently enjoying my annual 2 weeks off training, but I am sure when I go back I will have to step up training a level to prepare for next year! I am really looking forward to going to watch the Olympics in London, and I hope you are enjoying the Games too!

Rosie :)

After I came back from my holiday last month I had another operation to remove the ‘k wires’ still sticking out of my hand. It went well, and I had a cast on for another week. I started training just before my second operation to try to build up my strength and work on key skills, and since I had my cast off I have been working really hard to get my power and flexibility back. It is getting there but I will only know for certain if the operation has worked on Thursday when I have another x-ray. I am looking forward to diving onto my hands again soon and rehab and physio is going well!

I managed to compete in Dresden with sore hands and came 4th in the prelims behind 2 chinese and a Canadian diver. I was really surprised to find out that I was in second in the penultimate round but unfortunately dropped my last dive, however I was confident for the final. I ended up in 5th as a Ukranian diver scored extremely highly on her last dive. I am very pleased with my results as I was lucky to even compete at all but due to some rest and lots of physio I could! Now its time to prepare for National Junior Elites in the first weeks of June to qualify for the Junior European Championships later this year!

It was just my luck when I sprained my ankle two days before my first event at the Junior Elite Championships in Southampton, unfortunately I injured it during weights on Friday which caused me to withdraw from 3 out of 4 of my competitions.

I saw my physio 9 times in 6 days to work on it so that I could compete on Thursday but somehow I did and on platform I came 1st in the prelims and dropped to 3rd in finals which was really annoying as they take the top 2 to go to Europeans or it’s up to the managers discretion. The next week I competed in the Senior Elite Championships in Southend where my synchro partner and I came 5th in the 3m Synchro competition. It was in Southend where i found out that the manager had selected me to go to the Junior European Championships in Belgrade. I ended up 3rd which i am very pleased with because it is not as good as last year but i have had a really tough year with injuries this year. Now I have had an operation on my hand to fuse the 3rd CM
