Last Wednesday (29th August) I got up at 4am to travel to London to carry the Paralympic flame as part of the 24 hour Torch Relay. It was an amazing experience, and one I’ll never forget. I met lots of inspirational people who were carrying the flame for all sorts of reasons.

As if that wasn’t enough, on Friday 31st, after watching a morning of athletics in the Paralympic stadium, I was invited into the Paralympic village. I got to see all the athletes behind the scenes and even bumped into a few friends! Then, on Saturday, my family and I went to the Aquatics Centre where we watched Ellie Simmonds and Matt Whorwood (who both have the same condition as me) swim to Gold and Bronze medals in their events. The atmosphere was brilliant and I was so impressed by their achievements and how much the crowd got behind them.

Last month has been the one my busiest one as an Athlete. I started off the month of at the national dwarf games in Birmingham where I came a way with two silver in discus and shot, with also a new PB in shot.

Straight after that I had to head down to London, for two of biggest competitions I was going to be in this year. They were the Paralympic trails, where I was competing against world champions and world records holders, it was a big experience for me and I have learnt alot from competing there.

The other competition was the UK School games where I competed in shot put, I came way with a silver and once again some valuable experence.

After that I had to head back to my home county of Hertfordshire to compete in the county champs, where I won both discus and Shot, with a new Pb in shot.

Luckly enough after that I had a week off from everything to give me time to rest before my next competition.

My next comp was in Chemlsford on the hottest weekend this year, where I think competiting in that heat is much harder than competiting in pouring down rain. I had a very good comp considering the heat.

Then this week I was competiting at the English nationals where I came away with 2nd in shot and 3rd in discus in rain, which I was very happy with.
