My season shouldn’t be finished yet but it has been cut short cause i broke my finger. I shouldn’t have rode in a match when the hospital told me i shouldn’t ride in it. In this match i broke it again which made me miss out on the sponsored bike ride i was ment to do with Jemma from Asda Darlston.

I would also like to say a big thanks to Jemma for all her help throughout this :)

My chosen sport is Cycle speedway. This is not an official Olympic sport but through cycling, links with the Velodrome and other cycling events, such as BMX and road racing. Cycle speedway involves completing four laps of a shale track competing against three other riders, using a standard speedway bike with no brakes and single speedway gearing. It is a great sport to encourage young athletes into cycling, possibly even to Olympic standard.

During the Olympics, I will be watching the racing in the Velodrome as I hope Jess Varnish will be riding. Jess is a top track sprinter, achieving silver in team sprint and euro track team sprint and her dad took part in cycle speedway. I will also be watching Bradley Wiggins, Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton.

My first race I came last as on the second lap because my pedal came off but luckily my team mate came first which gave us a five all. In my second race I came last again because I fell of on the second lap. In my third race I came first. In my forth race I came third. And in my last race I came last. But later that day I went to the hospital as I was in pain with my hand. I later found out that I had broken my little finger when I fell off my bike in my second race.

In my first race at Stockport I came in second place because I spun off the gate which gave Aaron Hughes a head start which ultimately awarded him the win. Unfortunately in my second race I fell off at the first bend as another rider came into me but fortunately for me the ref called all four riders back and then I went on to win the race.

I came first in my third race. In my forth race I came second as I was on the outside grid of Ben Higham who won the race. After my four races I ended on a score of 14 points which qualified me to the A final. The draw gave me a grid two, I then came second in the race as Scott Millward was on gird one.

My American Trip

I went to America in April, it is a late post because i have been so busy racing all around the country.

Firstly when i got to America the weather was really bad, when we landed, but after that the weather was really nice. The second day was getting my bike and racing equipment ready then we travelled a hour to Gates County for a promotional match so we can try and kick the sport off more in America.

Later on in the trip i made the junior world final and I came 5th. I had a really shock when i was the youngest ride to make the senior world final, I ended up joined 12th.

another blog will be on soon :)

The photo I have uploaded is from when I rode for England and we won the junior world team cup.
