On the 15th and 16th of September, I’m competing in the English Schools National Decathlon at Bedford international stadium which will be my final event of the season. These past 6 weeks I have had intense training (working on strength, speed and stamina) in order to improve on everyone of my events. My aim for the Decathlon is to win the overall event; the competition will be very strong but I believe if I’m able to execute most of my events well then I have a chance of becoming English schools champion.
Last year at the same competition I was able to become champion for Octathlon but this year winning will be a lot more difficult as I’m only a first year u20.
A couple weeks ago I was able to achieve new PBs in 200m with 22.19 (-1.7) and 100m with 11.17 (-0.5) which has proved my training in sprints is proving successful.. If all goes well; on the day I’ll be able to execute and produce a lot of PBs.
Hopefully in a couple weeks I’ll be able to let you know of a good performance and a possible Gold medal :)
