It has been an eventful and successful 2012 for me. I won SIX medals in national championships across three age-groups – u15, u17 and u19. I also won medal placings and titles in some events that I played in Europe. I have already met most of my targets set for this season which I am extremely pleased about.

As 2012 draws to an end, I want to wish a very merry Christmas to all fellow ASDA athletes, their families and everyone else in the wider community. Hope that 2013 would bring much more joy to all!

I received my top-up award of £300 from ASDA recently. Thank you so much! This top-up award would go a long way in helping with my training expenses.

It has been a while since my last update. October was a tough month with u17 Danish Cup and then, National training during half-term.

I got selected for u19 Northumberland Open team event (3-4 November) and travelled all the way up to Newcastle after a gruelling training camp at MK. We did well to come second as a team. In the individual event, I reached the quarters of singles losing in a close third end. Doubles title did make me feel a lot better though, especially as I am still u16!

Loughborough u17 Gold event was a mixed bag as I didn’t do well in singles but won the gold in mixed. My first Mixed Gold in u17 event! SO Happy!

Just returned from Welsh International at Cardiff. It was an amazing experience as it was my first senior international. I lost to an exceptional Chinese Taipei player in WS but I enjoyed playing her as Asian players are exceptional. We lost to the top Irish pair in WD in close two ends. It was a good game and we learnt a lot ! I am already looking forward to next year …

I have just returned home after a super, hectic weekend from Lausanne. I did well in all three events – reached semis in GS and Mixed (partnering David King for the 1st time). It was a great finish as it was a well attended tournament with many European players, I had very tough matches and was not even seeded! We were second seed for our doubles and did one better – we WON the title after a very tight finish in the semi against another English pair. Phew!

I am off to Denmark in 10 days’ time to play in u17 Danish Cup for England. Can’t wait! Please wish me luck and i hope my lucky spell continues …

On 19th September, I arranged for another visit to my partner store. Though Cecily, local Community Life Champion was not in, Linda at the store was extremely helpful. It was nice to talk to customers as they stopped by. They seemed interested to know about the sport I played and wished me luck for the future. Thank you, ASDA! for giving me this opportunity.
