Asda Athletes

On Monday 27th August 2012 I travelled to Manchester with a team mate and my coach to take part in filming one of the Olympic episodes for the BBC’s A Question Of Sport.

It was great to meet the team captains; Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell. The real bonus was the chance to meet 9 London 2012 gold medallists.

My role was to teach Matt and Phil how to polevault in the space of half an hour for the “Captains Challenge”.

It was a fantastic day and one which I will never forget. It was a great experience and I hope I get the chance to do something like it again!

Last weekend I travelled to Belgium, to a town called Leuven to take part in a street vault.

The weather wasn’t great and it looked as if the competition was going to be called off due to heavy rain and wind earlier in the day.

In the end the rain cleared up and the sun came out but it was still quite gusty.

Because of the wind I used a shorter run up and lower grip on the pole.

The support from the crowd was fantastic and I managed to win my age group competition.

That was my last competition for the season and I’m back to Bath to start my conditioning for the Winter season.

Selected to represent Great Britain Juniors against the home nations senior teams.
