I have been shooting all weekend in all weathers and have just achieved second place overall having been pipped at the post by 3 points. I am so happy with how I performed. I lost out to a shooter who is in the Army with shooting experience has toured to many countries shooting and in his 50’s, so im doing ok at the age of 19 to get where I am. I have also maintained my status of top female shot in Northern Ireland aswell as top U21 shot.

Thank you ASDA for your support.

Woke up at 6.30am to get up and get my packed lunch ready for a full day of shooting. The weather for the first time ever was perfect for shooting. It was very sunny yet quite windy providing chalenging conditions for us to shoot in. I decided to have a video taken just to let everyone know what my sport actually involves however it is very hard to show you the thought process that goes into shooting. Once im in position and lined up with the target 600m away, I take two breaths and begin to squeeze the trigger. At the same time I have to watch the conditions as wind can affect the fall of my shot, the light can also affect my shot so it is quite key to shoot quckly yet consistently. Once I have fired the shot I must follow through effeciently and begin to write down any elevation or wind changes I made for that shot. Once the target has been marked, I have to plot the fall of shot and weather in the bull or not judge how much to move my sights. Just wanted to give you a small insight.. Thank you :D
