My day in the store!

What a day I had in the store! I’d spent the previous days preparing a display for me to present in the store. It gave me great delight to put together numerous pictures from competitions and certificates of achievements, all decorated with vibrant union jacks, that successfully caught ones eye!!
To start the day, I got dressed in my competition clothing, so people were certainly aware of my presence! Entering my local ASDA store (Bromborough) I received some query looks, due to my unusual dress code! Having set up my display in the foyer, with great help from the ASDA staff, and of course my mum, we were ready to start the day fundraising and raising my profile within my local community!
Vicki, (the ASDA charities rep, and was in charge of my day in store) supplied me with collecting buckets that we decorated with more distinctive union jacks! Then the action began!
Throughout the day, there we numerous call outs and notifications over the loudspeaker, to notify the customers about me and my sporting achievements, and my purpose of the day. It was fabulous to meet the customers who showed great interest and support towards me.
WOW!!! What a response. Already both Vicki and I were amazed at how heavy the buckets were getting and had to go and empty them so they were easier to hold!
It reached 5 ‘o’ clock, so we called it a day. I had a wonderful day in the store and raised a fantastic amount! It was inspiring to receive such support from my local community, who will hopefully see the benefit that their contributions have made for my training and competition! Huge thanks goes to the ASDA staff that made me feel incredibly welcome in their store, and my parents who helped me put together my display and for their ongoing support. But most of all, the ASDA customers, as without them, the day would not have been the same!
