Wii tennis or Triathlon? Tricky.

Corr its been a busy but very successful week!

On monday, I attended the Roy Burrell Sports Awards. PE teachers from schools across the Cambridgeshire district nominate pupils who they feel have made a valuable contribution through representing the school at their sport or performing at a high level outside of school.

I was really pleased to be nominated! It was lovely going along and finding loads of familiar faces! Everyone who was nominated had a medal presented to them by Commonwealth Games heptathlon bronze medallist Grace Clements. There were two main awards of the evening, the male and female sports people of year. I was so surprised when they announced my name for the female sports person of year. I really did not expect to win. There were so many talented athletes sitting around me who have achieved lots of impressive results! It’s great to have recognition for all the hard work you’ve put in.

I took a lot of things away with me from the evening, but one of the things that really stood out for me is that I should definitely stick to triathlon; when the organisers asked me play the boy’s winner of the award at Wii tennis in front of a 200 strong audience, I knew the outcome wouldn’t be pretty! I didn’t get a single shot in the court. So much for being a sports woman!
