The new season began at the start of September and will run all the way to the end of July 2013. It’s been a slow start so far with no competitions yet. We have been working on our fitness and have a swim camp coming up in the half term. I will be competing for Liverpool in the Arena League next weekend which means a trip to Blackpool to compete against other teams in the North West.

!(img-mid)!
The season ended with the National Championships in Sheffield. Since then I have been enjoying my time off both school and swimming.

During the summer I was lucky enough to have Olympic tickets to watch the Women’s 10 metre Diving at the new Aquatics centre in London. While I was in London I also went to watch the Men’s Triathlon.

Only one week left of Summer so plan is to rest as much as possible before school and training start again in September.

Here is a picture of me collecting my cheque from Nina in store at ASDA Hunts Cross. Was unable to attend the workshop in March due to The British Swimming Championships. Been busy lately with GCSE’s and on top of this have had training every night. Its hard work being a swimmer.

With 2011 almost over it’s time to reflect on the year;

A trip to Old Trafford to meet the ASDA team, swim camps in Cyprus and Majorca, successful British Youth Champs. So it has been a good year for me.
Over the Christmas/New year period I will have only 4 days out of the pool, which is unusual for swimmers, but it’s only because the pools are shut. I’m sure the coaches would have us in on Christmas day if they could.

Now looking forward to 2012 ( a London Olympic year), wishing all ASDA athletes a Happy New Year !

Before half term made my debut for Lancashire in a successful National County Championships gala (see picture above).

Half term is now over and have just spent the week away training in Spain with the City of Liverpool. The gala’s are now starting to come thick and fast after a slow start to the season. With trips coming shortly to Sunderland, Manchester and my first international debut gala in Antwerp, the ASDA assistance is now becoming very useful. The days are now getting shorter and colder which doesn’t make training any easier.
