Attended the talent camp at Hartpury the first weekend in January- great to be with talented athletes. Coaches pushed us to the limits on gym and fitness activities. Shooting was down for me but confident this will improve back to my normal level.
Swim training friday night with swim club started off my weekend. Up early for riding lesson on Saturday am then shooting in the afternoon. Small amount of xmas shopping then out for Xmas meal on the night. Sunday started with a run then revision and then a friend came – spent the afternoon collecting a tree and with family.
Attended the assessment day on Sunday for English Talent pool athletes- luckily this was focusing on the shoot element as I have a cold. Accuracy not as good as I like on the paper targets but pleased with the knock down success rates.
Just getting ready for swim meet tomorrow- need to be ready for poolside for 8am- never look forward to early starts!4 events with my favourite strokes so should be a fun day.
Have worked hard this week- 3 swim sessions, 1 run, 1 fence and a gym session then a rest tonight pre-competition.
Great news – have had the emailed invite to attend the GB talent ID camps in January – what an incentive to train harder!

Hello, I compete in Modern Pentathlon which involves the 5 sports of running, swimming, pistol shooting, show jumping and epee fencing. I also compete in triathlon (run/ swim/cycle) for fun. I started competing when I was 11 - initially biathlon then biathle and then triathlon. I am now learning to fence and ride. I train for around 20 hours a week however I also need to balance school work, family time, rest and fun! I would love to gain a selection for the Europeans this year. I am working hard to progress from the English Talent Pool onto the World Class Talent Programme. My dream is to achieve a place on the GB squad and who knows perhaps you will see me compete in the 2016-2020 Olympics.
