On Saturday 24th April, I made my way to Newport velodrome Wales. It was the first round of the midland qualifier for the National Omnium track final. For each race you receive points for your placings and at the end the person with the lowest amount of points is the winner. The first event was the kilometre time trial. I did a time of 1:16.8.

I was slightly disappointed by this time as it wasn’t as fast as I had hoped but I didnt let it phase me and carried on. The next three races were scratch race, points race and devil. I won all three which meant I won overall in the U16 girls catergory. I now go into the second event leading the standings. Hopefully if I can perform at the next three eventsIi should be in the national final at Manchester in August.
