Cardiff Selection Race
Had my second selection race at Cardiff this weekend. I’ve had some training camps there over the winter which were really fun and useful in preperation for the race.
The race it’s self had a strange format, demo runs (the people who go down the course showing competitors how to do the course) were at 14:00, which meant that my first run wasn’t until 15:20, that wasn’t too bad. But then my second run was at 18:40, then there was a delay so I ended up going down at 19:20 in flood lights. I can safely say it was the first race I have done in the dark under flood light, so that was interesting.
I ended up 14th overall, 5th Junior and first Junior 16. I’m really pleased with how I raced and can take away a few positives and also some stuff to work on for the next race.
The next race is this weekend up in Grand Tully in Scotland and it’s the last of the selection races. I’m travelling up on thursday morning so that I can get at least one training session in the afternoon then one on friday morning before they set the course up.
