Finally, I made it home for Christmas. After having been in Austria since the end of October training and racing, I am really happy with the way that the last races of 2012 have gone. I have managed to lower my world ranking in slalom by almost 200 places, and have put in some decent results in Giant Slalom as well.

Over the last week, I have also made 4 podium results. A first and third in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) and two seconds in Strobl (Austria).

I will be travelling out to Austria again next week to start training for races in the New Year where I am hoping to keep the momentum going and finally break the 30 FIS points barrier, to make it into the 20’s.

Heres to hoping that all the work will pay off. :)

Have a good Christmas :D x

Just a small video of one of our first slalom sessions back, cannot wait for my first races to come round in December. Just a few more solid training weeks left before the season really starts :) x

So I have now made my way out to Austria, where I will be based until May. We have been skiing every day up on Kitzsteinhorn Glacier getting the slalom legs back on. So far the weather has been pretty peachy… with just a hint of wind – certainly an upgrade from rainy Scotland :D

From here, we have all of November training, and then at the beginning of December will start racing… My new skis are arriving next week, so hopefully we can get them fast for then :)

Ive only got one week of conditioning left before I head out to Austria for the next 6 months. The last 5 weeks really have gone with the motto ‘No Pain, No Gain’ .. with plenty of ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’ involved (due to some very commited volleyball dives, enthusiastic squash raquet swings and just solid circuits). Our new Strength and Conditioning coach Phil has been working us hard, improving all of our lifiting and cardio … ensuring that we are perfectly prepared for the season ahead.

Cannot wait just to get out onto the snow and carry on where I keft off back in New Zealand!!!! :D Will keep you posted on how everything goes :)

Another few weeks on, and I’m still down in New Zealand with only 2 days of training left before we head across to another resort (Mt.Hutt) for a pretty intense spell of 5 races.(2 Super combined, 1 Super-g, 1 GS and 1 Slalom) Really looking forward to racing some Super-G after some epic morning sessions over the last month with the German ladies world cup team. Never the less, I am again hoping for some results in the tech disciplines. Fingers crossed.

Will keep you updated in how everything goes :) … but meanwhile, here’s a video of me training Super-G down here.

Enjoy x
