Asda Athletes

Represented Wales at the GB Nationals in Stirling the weekend of 27th/28th July. I won it last year in Cardiff, but didn’t play as well this year and didn’t make the finals. Good Luck to Nigel, Dan & Zoe who will be in the GB team for the Paralymics in London.

I was in the BC1/2 Welsh team in the above event with Rhodri and Martin, it was the first time we had competed as a team, we lost two and won two games. This event is a significant one in the Boccia Calender prior to the Paralympics with 11 international teams competing. We beat the Slovak Republic (ranked 17th in the world) and then England to finish 5th. We were so pleased -looks good for the future!

I attended an event when the Winter Olympic Torch was on display. It was to promote the London Olympic torch visiting the area in May.It was my first time to meet up with Rachel (Community Life Champion) and a great opportunity to tell staff and customers about my sporting life, and we raised a little bit of money too.
