I haven’t wrote on my blog in a while as I have been busy busy busy.

So I have moved out of the Junior circuit and stormed onto the senior circuit by winning the last tournament of the season, the Portuguese International, with my doubles partner Lauren Smith by beating the number 1 seeds in the final. Also we left being national u19 champions by winning doubles back in February, it was a very good win for us and a much needed confidence booster.

With such a good end to the season summer training has definitely started with a bang, making sure that my fitness is up to and over the mark for the up and coming season, it’s gone so quick but now I’m raring to go with my first senior tournament coming up on the 9th of September and not only that I’ve just finished my first year at Loughborough University and have decided that the course just didn’t suit me so I have decided to move to Leeds Met to study biology. So many things to look forward to.

This is my first blog post so I have to say a big thank you to Asda and Sports Aid. I never expected anything like this so it came as a big shock when I received the letter. The money will go a long way!

So tomorrow I am travelling down to the Velodrome in Manchester for the senior national championships. I will be playing all three disciplines with my regular partners, doubles with Lauren Smith and mixed with Gary Fox.

This is my third year of playing in the senior nationals and will be joined by the best players in the country. The big surprise this year is that I am seeded 4th in both singles and doubles, this means I am expected to reach the semi finals (I really hope I can) however I have never reached further than the quarter finals in singles and our doubles draw is very tough for the first couple of rounds.

I have trained very hard the past couple of weeks and also had some success in the tournament I played at the weekend in Nottingham by winning the doubles. With all this behind me and the confidence of being seeded I am hoping to walk onto court knowing I am as fully prepared as I can be to play the best I can.

I will update you with how I did next week. Wish me luck and thank you Asda and Sports Aid!
